Global medical insurer is recruiting for someone to fill the role of ‘Head of Corporate Sales Development’ reporting to the Director of Corporate.  This role will involve strategically developing Broker aligned sales panels while successfully delivering the product and overall proposition to market. You will be a positive, strong and engaging leader who is able to build a high performing team.  A skilled negotiator who can build successful business relationships as well as being a results-oriented achiever with a proven track record in building and driving sales results.


  • Strong relationship development and management with all strategically important intermediaries
  • Contribute to the overall corporate strategic direction, identifying new ways to win in the market segment
  • Direct line management and responsibility for the corporate sales team of up to 6 individuals
  • Oversight of all strategically important opportunities to ensure they are delivered in a manner consistent with our ambitions, goals and values, to an exceptional level of quality
  • Player/Manager role including personal ownership and delivery of sales target for identified key intermediaries
  • Ensure delivery of corporate sales targets, ensuring input into highly effective ongoing account management and the impact on retention
  • Produce, drive and own the strategic plan to ensure delivery of required targets
  • Ensure the team collects and manages market feedback and business intelligence to inform business decisions

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver profitable growth in the corporate market ensuring sales targets are met in line with business rules and guidelines
  • Develop highly engaging relationships with allocated broker panel and their corporate clients which deliver required business targets and outcomes
  • Pro-actively identify and drive areas for strategic growth and success
  • Facilitate and provide presentations and training as required internally and to intermediated market to drive engagement
  • Build strong and productive relationships with all internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the business
  • Live the brand values and act as an ambassador for the business at all times
  • Consistently demonstrate deep understanding of products and services and how they compare against the market
  • Take personal responsibility for ensuring compliance and regulatory requirements are met

Experience and Knowledge:

  • Extensive experience of the UK Healthcare insurance market and/or successful track record within B2B corporate environment
  • Highly commercial attitude and understanding of the drivers of volumes and profit in the given segment
  • Engaging and adaptive style of presenting material up to board level presenting
  • Highly confident in communicating at all levels of an organisation
  • Ability to create an immediately credible impact both internally/externally, in line with brand values and demonstrating integrity consistently
  • Creative problem solver who can identify and provide solutions to a customer’s demands
  • Exceptionally self-driven and able to work on own initiative and drive the elements required to deliver the business plan

Regional Consulting Leader – Based London – Salary c. £120k

large logoGlobal health and benefits provider seeks a Regional Consulting Leader to be the overall leader of a large team of corporate consultants spread across a significant geographic area, and covering several offices. Managing the Consulting Team Leaders, you will be responsible for a regional delivery of revenue of $7-13 million (including a significant growth target). The role involves implementing and communicating the business strategy and vision to your region with an ability to retain and grow your own clients as well as those within the team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Responsibility, through line managers, to ensure that the region’s clients are effectively managed by the consultants within the relationship management framework
  • Management of a personal portfolio of the most demanding and complex clients
  • Accountable for the profitability of the region and to manage the profitability of the team portfolio through regular meetings with the consulting team
  • Ensure accurate forecasting, sales projections and revenue delivery to agreed budgets
  • Ensure line managers’ teams meet KPI’s across the region
  • Representing the company in the market externally, with a strong personal brand, and significant press and social media profile
  • Ensuring excellence in service to clients across the region by management of the consultants and collaboration with the Regional Client Services Leaders and Regional Sales Leaders.

People Management

  • Direct leadership of Consulting Team Leaders and for the broader team of corporate consultants within region to include all aspects of day to day management and performance management
  • Responsible as part of the corporate leadership team for the talent strategy and delivery of talent initiatives
  • Active participation in direct report and skip level development opportunities for consultants in line with the talent grid and their personal development plans
  • Responsibility for identifying business efficiencies and succession and capacity planning within the team
  • Active participation in the budgeting process and compensation and reward planning exercises
  • Responsibility for engagement across the region and for delivering improvements to the working practices
  • Responsibility for maintaining strong relationships with talent acquisition, in market recruiters and an active pipeline of candidates
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to other high potential staff

Strategy and business planning

  • Accountable for the creation of the corporate UK strategy as part of the corporate leadership team and for implementation through the consulting team leaders
  • Accountable for the execution of the business plan across consulting teams within the region
  • Responsible with the corporate leadership team for the business planning cycle, identifying key investments and growth strategies

Revenue and new business generation

  • Accountable for delivery of regional financial targets amounting to $7-13million
  • Design and execute strategy for new business generation based upon local market ownership
  • Working with client leaders to ensure local strategies in place to deliver revenue growth
  • Event and demand generation content creation responsibility
  • Generate sales by expanding revenues from existing clients and participating in new client delivery in a senior client relationship manager role
  • Accountable for region and consulting teams sales and achieving revenue targets
  • Cross sell other in-house products and services to own clients and ensure that consultants within the region are also identifying and pursuing opportunities
  • Ensure that the team are fully compliant with sales processes
  • Champions in-house tools and services across the region, ensuring full compliance
  • Active in the local markets with business groups
  • Ownership for national initiatives based on specific business plan actions
  • Senior figure within the pillar framework contributing to proposition development and provider relationships

Required skills and experience:

  • Degree level or equivalent
  • Significant experience at senior level in employee benefits/health and benefits field essential including strategic input to business planning
  • Proven track record in people, business and client management
  • Proven track record of successfully managing a large team
  • Excellent selling, negotiation and sales strategy skills, including the ability to identify and close opportunities
  • Ability to structure and deliver integrated offers and sell value
  • Proven experience in building and developing senior client relationships
  • Experience in development, negotiation and administration of longer-term strategic contracts
  • Successful business to business sales experience (professional services preferred)
  • Significant financial and commercial acumen
